Graveleaf – “The Crusade”

An extra refreshing dance single from LA producer duo Graveleaf, this might be the best mixed track of the year, except that it came out in Feb 2008 I believe. Funky horn samples play over a second generation glitch rhythm that’s been tightened into a distinctly west coast march. Maybe if Herbie Hancock had produced Peter Gabriel’s ‘Sledgehammer’ and the whole thing was released on Ed Banger we’d have heard something like this by now.
