Cinnamon Chasers harken back to a better time

by

London’s Cinnamon Chasers do a great job of avoiding the shitty Franz Ferdinand drumbeats that so many bad European indie bands share. It’s reminiscent of Oingo Boingo and Cyndi Lauper with another distinct influence that I can’t put my finger on. It all comes from that xylophone synth. Is it Phil Collins, David Bowie, or something else. I should know this, please someone fill me in! Listen to “Luv Deluxe” and “Jetstream” here. I’m looking forward to some US dates in the near future hopefully.
