Art Decade

by

Who knew that Mars Volta could have such pop-sensibilities. To compare them to just them doesn’t really do Art Decade justice though. Their influences are obviously varied and come through in the form of chaotic structure changes tight enough to keep the melodies accessible. Singer Ben Talmi’s vocal range and ability becomes apparent pretty quickly, equal part Death Cab, Name Taken, Armor for Sleep and even Green Day with Mars Volta and At the Drive In’s energy. I love that about Art Decade, that I can’t quite place what they remind me of. Take a listen, decide for yourself. “The Queen” and “Lifeline” are the standout tracks. Big ups to to Matt Bauerschmidt from Noitavoni for the heads up. Check out Art Decade here.
